Located on the ground floor is the Laker Suite, our fully flexible conference and banqueting area, which can be divided into three meeting rooms to suit your requirements. Designed with state of the art audio visual equipment and WiFi access throughout, we have thought of everything you would need to make your meeting or event a great success. The beautifully styled conference suite offers a stunning setting for your wedding day or event, and can cater for events of up to 175 delegates. The hotel is situated next to Southend Airport. Southend Airport Train Station is located just minutes from the hotel with stops at Stratford and London Liverpool Street taking just 40 and 50 minutes respectively.  The Hotel has up to 250 available parking spaces.

Terms & Conditions

1. Number booked

Provisional numbers will be asked for at the time of the event being placed, for the event and accommodation, and the hotel reserves the right to stipulate a minimum number to be charged for the event. The minimum number is set out in the Contract Schedule. Final numbers must be confirmed 7 working days prior to the event (not including the day of the event) and, subject to the minimum number given at the time of booking, this will be the number to derive charges.

 

2.Payment

A deposit of 25% of the booking fee must be paid upon confirmation. The outstanding balance of the account is payable 14 days prior to arrival unless alternative arrangements have been agreed by the hotel. Credit will be given for the deposit paid.

 

Credit requests must be made at the time of the booking being contracted. Completed credit application forms are required at least 6 weeks prior to the event.

Payment will be collected 7 days prior to the meeting for the pre booked amount (including accommodation, food and beverage and equipment)

3. Cancellation by the Customer.

Should you cancel your booking a charge must be made equivalent to any loss suffered by the hotel. Costs incurred for any equipment hired by the hotel on your behalf will be added to any cancellation fee.

The following percentages of the total amount pre-booked (including accommodation, Food and Beverage and Equipment hire) will be charged:

If cancellation occurs 8 -16 weeks before an event, cancellation is 25% of total charges

If cancellation occurs 4 -7 weeks before an event, cancellation is 50% of total charges

If cancellation occurs 2 -3 weeks before an event, cancellation is 75% of total charges

If cancellation occurs less than 2 weeks before an event, cancellation is 100% of total charges

The Green Tourism Business Scheme is the leading sustainable tourism certification scheme in the UK. Holiday Inn Southend have been awarded a Bronze Award. The hotel uses internal low energy, with controls and sensors throughout public areas to reduce energy wastage and promotes a green laundry policy in every bedroom.

Our Accessibility and Equality Statement is promoted through all recruitment avenues and the hotel is an Equal opportunities employer. There is Staff training on local social concerns including a hotel charity committee who meet on a monthly basis to discuss and organise fundraising events to give back to our community. Charities and initiatives which have been supported in the past include Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Age Concern, HARP Homeless shelter, Enterprise Adviser Network, Mayors Charity Fund and 60 Minute Mentor programs. Over 80% of the hotels workforce live within a ten mile radius of the hotel which helps reduce pollution and congestion on our roads. The hotel partakes in the local Public Transport Scheme, providing subsidised public transport for our staff.  The hotel partakes in local Apprentice Schemes.

Cancellation Policy

For Instant Book, a Moderate Cancellation Policy offers the following:
  • Guests can cancel up to 15 days before the event for a full refund.
  • If cancellation occurs between 14 – 8 days before the event, a 50% refund is given.
  • No refund and full charges apply if cancelled within 7 days of the event.
