Ashorne Hill retains ECOsmart Platinum Status for Sustainability Excellence

Ashorne Hill, the home of the Ashorne Advantage, has once again been awarded Greengage's ECOsmart Platinum Status, marking another proud moment in its ongoing sustainability journey.This top-tier accreditation reflects Ashorne Hill's commitment to environmental responsibility, operational excellence and continuous improvement.

 Following a recent review, the organisation has demonstrated meaningful progress across a range of sustainability criteria, including energy efficiency, carbon reduction, waste management and guest engagement.

"We were thrilled to have demonstrated continued efforts to reduce our environmental impact" said Renata Homer, Head of Operations and Customer Experience at Ashorne Hill.

"Our journey continues with specific emphasis on reducing CO2 emissions, building sustainable infrastructure, and driving towards a circular economy."

Sustainability in ActionThe latest review not only confirmed Platinum status but also provided valuable insights into areas for future improvement. Under the leadership of Mark Soule, Estates, Facilities and Sustainability Manager, Ashorne Hill's Environmental Action Group is already implementing the next phase of sustainability enhancements.

One such initiative involves upgrading thermal efficiency by replacing legacy windows in one of the site's original accommodation blocks, a practical change that supports long-term environmental goals.

Engaging the CommunityAshorne Hill recognises that meaningful sustainability goes beyond buildings and infrastructure. As a venue that hosts learners, leaders, and guests from across the UK, it is embracing its role as a catalyst for collective action.

In the coming months, Ashorne Hill will launch a series of on-site campaigns and guest engagement initiatives aimed at encouraging more conscious, environmentally aware choices amongst visitors.

"Sustainability isn't a box to tick, it's a share journey," Homer added. "We're proud to lead with purpose, and event prouder to invite our wider community to join us."

Our beautiful surroundings will also allow opportunities for inspirational new thinking and peaceful areas for self-reflection along with extensive grounds for team building, outdoor activities and alfresco dining. Our purpose encompasses what we do very simply – ‘We create experiences that nurture and inspire in a natural setting’. Ashorne Hill is set in 35 acres of Warwickshire countryside offering stunning views across our grounds and nearby farmland. Our restaurant terrace is the perfect area for relaxing with a drinks reception and BBQ. Whilst other areas of our grounds provide a flexible space for training exercises, team building activities and outdoor entertainment. We also have wellness walks and nature trails.

We provide the perfect facilities for our customers, whilst displaying a passion and depth of commitment to our green policies.

In January 2013, Ashorne Hill made a commitment to become a more sustainable, environmentally friendly, business and as a result formed a dedicated Green Team.

Our Green Team have established; a 5 year Green Action Plan, set energy saving targets, improved staff environmental awareness and continually look to reduce our carbon footprint.
