Sustainability

Our key sustainability themes include energy, waste, transport, biodiversity, procurement and commercial operations. All of these themes have a carbon and ecological impact, we are therefore committed to achieving net zero carbon scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions before 2050.

Corporate Responsibility

We take our community responsibilities very seriously and in collaboration with Falmouth University, the University of Exeter and the Students’ Union (SU), we work hard to encourage residents of Falmouth and Penryn to view the impact of the institutions on the two towns in a positive way.
A community issues telephone line provides local residents with a port-of-call to register complaints about university-related issues and our Living Support and Accommodation teams have a robust process for dealing with anti-social behaviour issues in consultation with the two institutions. The Falmouth Town Council-led Town & Gown Committee provides opportunities for staff from our campuses to engage with town, parish and county councillors to discuss issues of common interest and work together to celebrate the positive benefits of Falmouth and Penryn being university towns.  The SU’s annual awards scheme also celebrates student volunteering in the wider community.
