The Bear was originally a coaching inn that has played host to Queen Victoria, Churchill, Eisenhower and the Canadian Prime Minister, Jean Chretien. Set in historic surroundings and located near the town centre, we take pride in The Bear's successful combination of traditional charm and modern facilities. The Bear Hotel has retained all the warmth and friendliness of its history, whilst offering you the best of food, wines and present day comfort. The cosy public bar and lounge, with open fires, both with superb fresh bar food allowing for two great places to relax. Our restaurant is noted in the area for a superb choice of freshly prepared English and Continental cuisine, all individually prepared for you.Whether you are staying for business of pleasure, we will give you a really warm welcome and will do our very best to help you enjoy your stay. The Bear Hotel is also the perfect venue for weddings and conferences for up to 80 guests in our Function rooms.

Leave A27 at Havent/Hayling Island turn off, turn left at the roundabout (Park Road South). At the second set of traffic lights, turn right. When you come to the mini roundabout, turn left. Take the first turning on your right (Prince George's Street) and follow the road round. Our car park is opposite the end of this road.
