The Place Hotel is highly accessible. The Picardy Place tram stop is right outside, with direct connections to Edinburgh Airport. Waverley Train Station is an 8-minute walk, and Edinburgh Bus Station is just 2 minutes away. Frequent buses and nearby taxi ranks ensure smooth city travel, making it convenient to arrive by air, rail, or road.
St James Quarter car park offers 1,600 spaces across three levels, just minutes from The Place Hotel, Edinburgh Playhouse, and Princes Street. Overnight and all-day parking are available. Access via St James Place (EH1 3BP) or Leith Street (EH1 3AS). The maximum vehicle height is 2.1m.
1. The Contract: All enquiries are processed by The Place Hotel Edinburgh through a "Contract," sent upon booking confirmation. Clients must sign and return the contract and non refundable deposit within 7 working days, with final confirmation due 14 days before the event.
2. Payment: Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date, covering all agreed charges and any additional costs. Late payments incur interest at 4% above the Royal Bank of Scotland base rate. Any invoice queries must be raised within 5 days. The hotel reserves the right to withdraw credit facilities.
3. Variations: Clients must inform the hotel of any changes in guest numbers at least 5 days before the event. Increases depend on health and safety regulations, while decreases may still incur full charges as per the contract.
4. Use of Hotel Facilities: Clients and guests must comply with liquor licensing, fire regulations, and health & safety laws. All consumables must be supplied by the hotel unless otherwise agreed in the contract. Guests must behave appropriately to maintain the hotel’s reputation.
5. Cancellations: The hotel may cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances, insolvency of the client, unpaid past invoices, or actions damaging to the hotel’s reputation. In such cases, advance payments will be refunded, subject to costs incurred.
Clients may cancel with at least 20 weeks' notice. Late cancellations incur charges:
Less than 7 days: 100% of contract charges5 to 7 weeks: 75% of contract charges10 to 5 weeks: 40% of contract chargesCancellations must be in writing and take effect upon receipt.
6. Access Times: Day rate bookings allow access from 08:00 to 18:00 unless otherwise agreed in writing. Evening events must be booked in advance. If not booked at least 20 weeks prior, the hotel may reassign rooms for other contracts.
7. General Terms: Clients are liable for any damage or losses. The hotel will make reasonable efforts to fulfill obligations but may substitute services of equal or greater value if necessary. The hotel is not liable for disruptions due to:Industrial action, Fire, flood, or civil disturbances, Natural causes (e.g., power failure), Technical service failures.8. Pricing & Legal Compliance: Prices are reviewed annually on April 1st. The hotel reserves the right to adjust prices with at least 7 days’ notice. Changes in taxation or levies beyond the hotel’s control may also apply.
9. Entertainment & Noise Levels: Clients are responsible for ensuring reasonable noise levels during events. Licensing and liability laws apply to any event with a bar.
10. Photography: The hotel may use event photos for marketing unless the client provides written objections when returning the signed contract. Identifiable brand names, logos, or individuals will be edited out or require approval before use.
