Located on the picturesque Bayley Lane, next to the dramatic ruins of Coventry's old Cathedral, St. Mary's Guildhall is one of England's greatest historic treasures.From the delightful central courtyard, arched doorways lead to a series of rooms that ooze historic charm and interest at every turn, from the beautiful stained glass windows and decorated roof carvings of the soaring Great Hall, to the stone vaulting of the Undercroft, and the half-timbered Armoury.Regarded as probably the finest surviving medieval guildhall in the country, St. Mary's was built in the 1340s for the wealthy merchant guild of St. Mary, as an impressive base for their grand banquets, ceremonies and meetings. Today the Guildhall continues to host high profile occasions for the business community, civic leaders, academic institutions and private celebrations, backed by high quality in house catering, and a friendly, experienced team of hospitality professionals.
