Centrally located and sweetly nestled between two colleges and an expansive common, this reimagined hotel offers 189 guestrooms, a grand 272 sq. m. ballroom and a British brasserie, Parker’s Tavern. As part of the Marriott Autograph Collection, the hotel is a celebration of Cambridge and the hotel’s early beginnings as a former coaching inn, the first hotel in the city. The 272 sq. m. ballroom features floor-to-ceiling windows, wood-panelled walls and high ceilings, giving the room a plush yet airy feel. The history and former glory of University Arms is celebrated as the original stained-glass windows, elegant and oversized fireplace and the sprung dance floor has been incorporated into the new space. It is designed for parties, weddings and large events, seating 180 guests or up to 200 standing. The room can be sectioned off into two so it is ideal for events of varying sizes.

As a recently restored and refurbished property, we have rebuilt our iconic hotel with sustainable energy usage in mind. The brickwork of the building and porte-cochère was all locally sourced and well insulated, keeping heat inside. Our windows are all triple glazed, again, keeping the heat inside but they also open for when it is warmer outside.
