Our parent company Andras House received in March 2024 a Carbon Neutral certificate, which Crowne Plaza Belfast’s carbon saving efforts have certainly contributed to.Our carbon consumption is tracked on a monthly basis via IHG Green Engage where all our energy consumption within the hotel is tracked.
We are committed to our Green natives and are proud of our GOLD Green Tourism award 2025. We monitor our energy usage and waste production but acknowledge that our corporate responsibility is far wider reaching. We are mindful of the health and wellbeing of our staff and guests for example, with extensive training delivered to our employees on this
We were proudly awarded Green Tourism GOLD certificate in November 2024. Some key initiatives and achievements that contributed to this include: In 2023 we invested in 947 Solar Panels helping us generate clean electricity. We offer guests access to 3 EV charging points. Waste management improvements such as cardboard bailer and separating our waste streams across the hotel, including encouraging our guests to do the same by placing recycling stickers on all bedroom bins. Installing energy-efficient fan motors cut air-conditioning energy use by up to 41%. Additionally, our centralized Building Management System (BMS) allows us to control heating and air conditioning in meeting rooms and public areas based on occupancy, optimizing energy efficiency. For meetings and events, we use reusable items like glass bottles and ceramic cups, and encourage mindful paper use.
