The county of Pembrokeshire has long been recognised as extraordinarily beautiful but meeting planners and event organisers are now realising the benefits of hosting conferences, meetings and events in this rich and diverse region. The UK’s only coastal National Park, Pembrokeshire offers not only a spectacular coastline and award winning beaches but also the Preseli Mountains and Daugleddau Estuary, thereby offering a varied landscape for outdoor teambuilding events and corporate activities on land and water.
Country and coast blend with rich celtic heritage and culture in this historic county where once a king was born and arts and crafts still thrive. The town of Haverfordwest is an obvious choice of meeting destination being the administrative centre of the county whilst alternative locations such as Pembroke and the coastal resort of Tenby also offer an excellent selection of conference and event venues with outstanding facilities whether historic buildings, stately homes, country house hotels, sporting or academic venues.
Road links with the M4 motorway make the region easily accessible by road as well as via excellent rail connections whilst the airport at nearby Cardiff provides access for international conference delegates.
Pembrokeshire is without doubt an ideal setting for adventurous teambuilding events and corporate activities. Venues such as Pembrokeshire Adventure Centre, Morfa Bay Adventure and the Bluestone National Park Resort offer not only daring activities in breathtaking locations but also conference centres superbly equipped with the latest technology to cater for all corporate events. Other sporting venues include Tenby Leisure Centre, which offers conference halls and suites with capacity for 850 delegates, as well as Heatherton Country Sports Park whereas the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society County Showground provides extensive spaces well suited to large conferences and corporate events, teambuilding activities and exhibitions. An unusual venue is Manor House Wildlife Park which offers unique event space set amongst 52 acres full of wildlife whereas academic venue Pembrokeshire College provides a more traditional setting complete with lecture theatres, conference halls, meeting and training rooms. Several civic and cultural venues offer conference and meeting spaces suited to both large and small corporate events as well as weddings including Pembroke Town Hall, the Torch Theatre and De Valence Pavilion whilst majestic historic venues such as Picton Castle, stately home Rhos Y Gilwen Mansion, Slebech Park and Manorbier Castle provide inspirational and memorable backdrops for weddings, corporate retreats, conferences, banquets and hospitality events. As the county has been popular with tourists for some years there are several hotels that now also cater exceptionally well for the business traveller such as the Cleddau Bridge Hotel, Plas Hyfryd Country Hotel and the award winning St Brides Spa Hotel, all of which offer an excellent choice of conference and banqueting suites to suit all occasions. Major hotel groups represented in the county of Pembrokeshire include Best Western and Classic British Hotels.
