HBAA Chairman, Leigh Cowlishaw of Capita confirmed that during 2016, they will be taking the HBAA " Back to Basics " and building the Association back to its origins, by which they were established and have developed since 1997.
Leigh also emphasized that HBAA is committed to investigating subjects, which are bolstered by the code of practice, The Tour Operators’ Margin Scheme (“TOMS”), small meeting efficiency and accommodation tax. This has been welcomed by venuedirectory.com as small meetings are also key to the growth of the UK MICE industry.
According to Leigh “Change isn’t an event, it is a process. We are on a journey to progress HBAA onto a more strategic agenda and engage on bigger issues and get a “cause” that unifies hotels, apartments, venues and agencies.”
Finally the HBAA Chairman expressed her satisfaction to lead the Association together with Louise Goalen from Ashfield Meetings & Events during 2016 and 2017. Likewise she anticipated her enthusiasm in attending the next ‘HBAA Members Meeting’ on 15th March at Leicester Tigers.
