Displaying some of the most exhilarating air acrobatics by the Royal Air Force’s Red Arrows, the Festival has attracted over 7 million people to the town since its launch back in 2008. Other visitors visit the city to make use of the BIC (Bournemouth International Centre), which plays host to a variety of theatrical, comedic and musical events throughout the year. Many visit the town for the incredible landscape and sea views, however if you are visiting in the winter months, Bournemouth’s Gardens of Light is an event that you should keep in your diary.
This Christmas, for the second year running, Bournemouth’s Gardens of light will transform the city into a festive wonderland. Created by local light artist Michael Grubb, Bournemouth is illuminated by a series of light pods placed around the town. Many of the light pods on display have used traditional beach huts fitted with a variety of sparkling lights to create the fantastic atmosphere, which makes use of Bournemouth’s sea-side resort character and history.
