Today in Cumbria
We’ve just heard that from today, the locomotive Tornado will be pulling 12 Northern services on the Settle-Carlisle line over three consecutive days (14th,15th and 16th of February 2017).
Built by enthusiasts in Darlington at a cost of £3m, this impressive steam engine will travel the mainline, taking in the Yorkshire Dales and passing over the Ribblehead Viaduct before entering Cumbria's Eden Valley. The eight-carriage trains will run two return journeys a day between Appleby and Skipton.
Cumbria includes the famous Lake District, the North Pennines and Furness Pennines, making the county one of the most picturesque locations in the UK, perfect for hosting conferences, meetings and events in one of its many interesting venues. The rich charm of historic towns and villages in this region makes it an ideal choice for outdoor pursuit team building events and corporate activities as well as rural corporate retreats, hideaway meetings and romantic weddings.
Just like Tornado, Cumbria will promise you a journey to remember!
